Invisible grills across Jayanagar, through the numbered blocks from 3rd to 9th, South End Circle, Tilak Nagar and the Jayanagar East side. This is one of the oldest planned layouts in Bangalore, and most of what we fit here is on an independent house that has been added to at least once since it was built.
What Jayanagar changes about the job
The same crew and the same materials everywhere in Bangalore — what changes is the building stock, and what that means for how the job is fitted.
Two things come up on nearly every Jayanagar measurement. Parapets on houses of this generation are frequently low by any current reading, so the cable run usually starts at deck level rather than at the top of the wall. And the plaster on an old parapet face will not hold an anchor — we fix into the concrete behind it, which sometimes moves a fixing line a couple of inches from where you would expect it. Both are settled at the visit, not on installation day.
Jayanagar is one of the oldest planned layouts in the city, and the housing shows its age in a way that matters for this work. Parapets on houses built in the sixties and seventies are frequently low by any modern reading, plaster on the older parapet faces will not hold an anchor reliably, and the grilles already on many windows are painted mild steel that has been repainted enough times to hide what is underneath. We anchor into structural concrete rather than into that plaster, which occasionally means moving a fixing line by a few inches — worth saying up front, because it is the one thing that surprises customers here.
Building stock here
Independent houses on the original BDA sites through the numbered blocks, a lot of them now three floors with a let upper storey, plus small apartment blocks along the main roads and around South End Circle. Rear utility balconies used for drying are close to universal and are usually the first opening a family wants closed.
Why our invisible grills hold up
With invisible grills, the specification is easy to fake and hard to see. Cable grade, spacing and tension are what actually stop a fall, and all three are invisible in a photograph. We fit only 316 cable, hold the 2-inch spacing across the whole run, and name the grade in writing on your quote — so what you paid for is written down before anyone drills a hole.
What it is made of
- Cable
- 316-grade stainless steel, typically 2mm

- 2 inches vertical/horizontal, held across the whole run
- End fittings
- Stainless fittings and turnbuckles
- Anchoring
- Parapet edge and slab soffit, never the tile face
- Re-tensioning
- Adjustable later without redrilling

Questions we get in Jayanagar
Can invisible grills go on the rear utility balcony of a Jayanagar house?
Yes, and it is the opening most families here ask about first. A utility balcony is usually a narrow, fully enclosed span, which makes it one of the quicker installations we do. The cable is open enough that you can still dry clothes out there exactly as before.
Which parts of Jayanagar do you cover?
Every Jayanagar block is on our south Bangalore route, along with South End Circle, Tilak Nagar, Byrasandra and Jayanagar East. No travel charge within Bangalore.
Will the grill actually be invisible?
Not literally — up close you can see the cable. From a few feet back, and from outside the building, the opening reads as open. That is the whole reason people choose it over an MS grill.
Is 2-inch spacing safe for a small child?
Yes. Two inches is narrower than a toddler's head breadth, which is the standard the spacing is set against, and the cable is under tension so it does not spread apart under a push.
Does drilling damage the balcony?
Anchors go into the structural parapet edge and the slab soffit, not the tile face. The holes are sealed and touched up as part of the job.
How long does an invisible grill last in Bangalore?
316-grade stainless does not rust in this climate, and the cable is under tension rather than under load, so there is nothing that wears in normal use. The practical life is far longer than a painted MS grill in the same position.
What does an invisible grill cost in Bangalore?
It is quoted per square foot of opening, and the figure depends on the size and how the anchors have to be set rather than on your area of the city. The measurement is free, the price that comes out of it is fixed, and it does not change afterwards.
