Bird Netting installed by JS Invisible Grills in Electronic City, Bangalore

Bird netting across Electronic City — Phase 1 and Phase 2, Neeladri Nagar, Konappana Agrahara and the Hosa Road side. Balconies, utility areas, AC platforms and the duct shafts that are usually where the nesting actually is.

Local conditions

What Electronic City changes about the job

The same crew and the same materials everywhere in Bangalore — what changes is the building stock, and what that means for how the job is fitted.

In the older four-storey blocks around Neeladri Nagar and Konappana Agrahara the duct shaft is nearly always the real source, and it is nearly always the thing nobody has looked at. Netting balconies while the shaft stays open is why a lot of families here have had the job done twice. We check the shaft on the measurement visit whether or not it is what you called about.

Electronic City runs either side of the elevated expressway, and the apartments closest to it take a constant load of road dust that settles into any mesh left open to it. It is the one practical reason we specify a slightly larger mesh aperture here for balcony netting than we would in a quieter pocket of the city — a fine mesh next to that carriageway clogs and starts to look grey inside a year.

Building stock here

A dense mix: high-rise apartment projects through Phase 1 and Phase 2, older three- and four-storey blocks around Neeladri Nagar and Konappana Agrahara, and newer villa and tower developments spreading down Hosa Road towards Bommasandra. A lot of it is rented to families working the campuses, so child-safety netting is the single most common enquiry from this side of the city.

What you get

Why our bird netting hold up

We quote after looking at where the birds actually get in, not just at the opening you can see from inside. That usually means netting a corner return, a beam junction or the strip behind an AC bracket that a cheaper quote leaves open — and it is the only reason our netting stays effective while the neighbour's is re-colonised inside a year.

Humane by Design A barrier, not a trap or a poison — the birds simply move on to somewhere they can land.
The Mess Stops No droppings on the floor, no nesting material in the duct, no smell in the utility balcony.
Protects the Building Fabric Droppings are acidic — they stain masonry and corrode AC brackets and exposed fixings.
It Does Not Wear Off Unlike gel, tape or sound deterrents, a sealed net does not lose its effect after a season.

Questions we get in Electronic City

We netted our Electronic City balcony and the pigeons came back. Why?

Almost always because the duct shaft or a shared ledge was left open, so the colony never actually left the building. That is a sealing problem rather than a material one. We will look at the shaft as part of the measurement and tell you plainly whether the balcony alone will hold.

Which parts of Electronic City do you cover?

Both phases of Electronic City are covered, along with Neeladri Nagar, Hosa Road, Doddathoguru and out as far as Bommasandra and Chandapura. No travel charge within Bangalore.

Is netting cruel to the pigeons?

No. It is a barrier — the birds cannot land there and go elsewhere. Nothing traps, injures or poisons them, which is not true of spikes or gels.

There is a nest with eggs on my balcony. Can you still net it?

Tell us when you call. We would rather time the job around an active nest than seal a bird in, and we will advise on when to schedule.

Can the duct still be opened for plumbing work?

Yes — duct netting is fitted with resettable fixings so a plumber can open the panel and re-secure it afterwards.

Do you do whole apartment blocks?

Yes, and at association rates. Block-wide netting is usually cheaper per flat and far more effective than owners netting one balcony at a time.

We netted one balcony and the pigeons moved upstairs. What now?

That is normal in a tower — netting one flat displaces the colony rather than removing it. The lasting fix is closing the duct shafts and the shared ledges as a block, which is an association decision. We will quote both so a committee can compare them.
